Tim DEIBLER

We've asked our artists why they love pursuing their craft in Colorado. Each of their stories is unique! Here is Tim's.

"Tim Deibler has been drawing and painting ever since he was old enough to hold a crayon. Art has always been part of my life and my lifetime ambition. Having a professional artist as a neighbor led to the development of Tim's artistic eye at an early age.

His fascination with mountains since childhood found expression in early attempts at drawing and painting. Studying on weekends with many local professionals during high school further developed and refined his approach to painting. Tim took the chance fresh out of high school to move to Denver to attend the Colorado Institute of Art where he learned the skills and work ethic necessary to be successful. The added benefit of seeing the entire front range from his apartment window only added to his love of the mountains.

After graduation he worked in the commercial art, video and photography fields for several years in Oklahoma and Canada. Choosing to homeschool and raise his young kids in Colorado, he made the permanent move back from Niagara Falls in 1990 to try and support his family as an artist. Spending time on long mountain hikes and camping trips proved beneficial not only for his art but also for his three children. His son is now a park ranger for the National Park Service.

A Signature member of Oil Painters of America, he has won five Awards of Excellence at OPA's National Juried Shows from such distinguished artists as Daniel Gerhartz, Quang Ho, Ramon Kelly and Scott Christensen.

Following his childhood passion, he has built the life for himself and his family that he always dreamed of. Being surrounded by the beauty of the mountains, the views from his log home in southern Colorado are a continuous reminder of their journey which now finds its expression through his award winning paintings."

Tim Deibler has had a life-long passion for art. From his earliest childhood he tried to visually depict the world around him with crayons and paint. A Signature member of OPA, he has won five Awards of Excellence at the Oil Painters of America’s National Juried Show from such distinguished artists as Daniel Gerhartz, Quang Ho, Ramon Kelly and Scott Christensen.
